Vertical Blinds Are Easy To Install
Vertical blinds are not much different from horizontal window blinds; it’s all about personal preference. Most window blinds will come with a head rail, vanes or louvers, mounting clips, brackets and screws, and valance pieces. Again, you should have to have any of this on hand; they should be in the box.
Now that you have made all of your purchases, it’s time to get started. Star by opening your window blinds and laying out the contents of the box. Go through the instruction manual and make sure you have all the supplies that were supposed to come with the blinds. Then, read through – or even skim – the directions one time to give you an idea of how long this might take, and the order of steps you will be taking.
Now you get to draw on your walls. Measure exactly where you want your mounting brackets to be; mark where each of the holes are for drilling. Take your time here, measure exactly, and make sure everything is level. After all, you do not want to finish your project to find out that the brackets are not even – UGH. Who wants crooked blinds, right?
Once your mounting brackets are penciled in, go ahead and screw them into the wall using the appropriate tools. As soon as these are installed, you can snap the head rail into place. Make sure you read the directions for your specific blinds, as they vary a bit when it comes to locking he head rail into place.
Finally, you can start installing the individual louvers – window blinds – onto the head rail. Again, each set of blinds may vary for locking positions, read the directions carefully. You will install these one by one until you have completely installed your vertical blinds. Finishing touches, like cords, will come easy to you at this point.
