Once you get your new faux wood blinds home, unpack everything and organize the hardware so you’re sure you have everything you need. Hold the blind up and lay out the slats so they’re right up tight against the top of the blind. Find the brackets in the installation kit and attach them to each side of the top of the blind.

In that case, you’ll still mark off either side of the brackets, but then you’ll use a measuring tape to determine the middle point of the window. Then simply lay the center bracket over your mark and note where the pilot hole needs to be positioned.

Now that all of the brackets have been marked off, you’ve got to mark off the rest of the pilot holes. Lay each bracket over the corresponding mark and draw a dot for the pilot hole. Then grab a drill and drill out your pilot holes. Make sure you pick the right bit for the size of the hardware. If you don’t have a hand drill, you can get the pilot hole started with a hammer and nail, but again make sure the nail is the appropriate size.
Finally, you’re ready to screw the brackets onto the window frame. Once the brackets are in place, you will simply hang your faux wood blinds. They should snap right into the brackets.
